I'm not knocking the Nobel Prize or disparaging the deserving scientists who receive them. It's just a distortion of how science works. Many recipients are fortunate enough to be at a critical node where the work of many converges, or is synthesized, tor comes to completion, or are fortunate enough to live in a time when vital instrumentality is available. I've always thought that the NPs should include a plot of all the contributory work leading up to the point where an award is granted.
