I think this version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers was one of 2 re-imagined horror movies that arguably are better than the original - the other being John Carpenter's 1982 'The Thing'. Surprisingly, the original 1951 Howard Hawks version still holds up pretty well (I love the banter).
Pod people - it has to be pod people - otherwise you'd have to be really something to still follow that SoS.
