Reader Poll

There have been complaints that the standard font of FCC is hard to read.

Please take a moment if you would, to choose one of the above (or suggest another).  All are non-bolded 42's.

Thx! The Management

  1. I like zero, but they have to be bigger than in the past!

  2. Based on the samples provided, I would favor font 2, then 1, then 0. These are the easiest to read when small or when they are part of an image (readability is especially an issue for writing printed into an image, since the image will usually be displayed smaller than created, and lettering often comes out imperfect compared to lettering in the body of a blog post).

However, it's hard to tell without samples including a capital I, since that's the great divide:

All fonts in which the capital I is a simple vertical stroke, and thus indistinguishable from the lower-case L, suck.

Fonts in which the capital I has the two short horizontal lines attached (top and bottom), and thus is easily distinguishable from the lower-case L, do not inherently suck, though they may suck for other reasons.

(I'm referring to capital I as in the pronoun "I", in case it's hard to tell since the font in which these comments are displayed is itself a sucking one.)

For images I make, I always use Tahoma, for a good combination of general readability and non-sucking capital I.

  3. Like "0" the best if it was a size or 2 larger. LOVE your site, but it has been difficult to read, but I'm in my senior years. . . THANKS for asking !
