When I was a kid and we had a school gift exchange (secret Santa kind of arrangement except that you didn't know who was to get the gift either) I got a fruitcake on 2 occasions and chocolate covered cherries on 3.
My Dad loved fruitcake but as my brother and I noted, he also ate gristle on the meat, so his tastes were suspect at best.
