I detest the fetish of suffering that is the root of Christianity. Their god can inflict all manner of suffering as a 'test' or object lesson but the ultimate expression of self-determination is the only truly unforgivable sin.
While it is certainly true that many suicides are rooted in treatable forms of depression, our society remains loathe provide mental health services or to consider the possibility that a competent individual could choose to end their own life.
Of all of Dante's levels, I found this one the most cruel.
