Geek Speak: If you've read much Sci-fi you may have encountered the books of The Hyperion Cantos (Dan Simmons). A central plot device in (I believe) all of the books is the character called the Shrike (after that nasty little bird that impales its victims in thorns) which serves as the inspiration for Venn's 'Little Lending Library'. In the books I think it's much larger but even a somewhat modest Shrike looks pretty intimidating. There's a link to an article that talks about Christians who book bomb these little structures with their propaganda tools. Nothing says Christian like pissing off your neighbors.
I absolutely love the Hyperion Cantos, I've read the set at least 3 times and may read it again before oblivion takes me. I love your cartoons too. Keep up the good work, you guys are great.
